Summary

• SpaceUp is a device utility for storage cleaning, WhatsApp media management, phone optimization, and related tools.
• File scanning, cleaning, and vault features run on your device. We do not operate user accounts and we do not upload your photos, files, WhatsApp media, or notification contents to Nougex servers.
• The App uses Google AdMob to show ads. Google may collect advertising and device-related data as described below.
• We do not sell your personal information.

Who this App is for

SpaceUp is intended for adults who want to manage storage and device performance on their own phone. The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Information the App accesses and stores

Information processed on your device

To provide cleaning, file browsing, and optimization features, SpaceUp may access the following locally on your device:

• Files and folders you choose to scan (including app cache, temporary files, large files, duplicates, screenshots, APKs, and WhatsApp media folders)
• Installed app metadata (app names, package names, storage usage, icons) for App Manager and related tools
• Storage statistics (used and free space on internal and external storage)
• Active notification metadata (app name, title, and text shown in the status bar) if you enable Notification Cleaner
• App usage statistics if you grant Usage Access for Phone Boost or related optimization features

This data is used to display results in the App and to perform actions you request (such as deleting selected files or clearing cache). We do not transmit this content to our own servers.

Information you store in the App

Some features save settings and content in the App’s private storage on your device, including:

• App Lock — PIN or lock preferences and the list of apps you choose to lock
• Hidden Apps — package names of apps you hide from the launcher
• Hidden Gallery — photos and videos you move into the in-app vault, plus a local index of vault items
• General App preferences stored in Android SharedPreferences

Vault and lock data remain on your device unless you clear app data or uninstall the App.

Information collected by third-party advertising

SpaceUp displays ads through Google AdMob (banner and full-screen interstitial ads). When ads are shown or loaded, Google may collect information such as:

• Advertising ID (AAID) and device identifiers
• IP address and approximate location derived from IP
• Device type, OS version, and App version
• Ad interaction events (impressions, clicks)

Google uses this data to serve and measure ads, detect fraud, and comply with its policies. See Google’s Privacy Policy and AdMob & user data.

SpaceUp does not use Firebase Analytics or other Nougex analytics SDKs at this time.

Device permissions

SpaceUp requests permissions only when needed for features you use. You can deny or revoke permissions in Android Settings.

• Storage / media access — scan junk files, WhatsApp media, large files, and related storage tools
• All files access (optional) — deep clean and broad storage scans on supported Android versions, if you grant it
• Usage access (optional) — identify background apps for Phone Boost when you enable that feature
• Notification access (optional) — read and clear active notifications in Notification Cleaner
• Accessibility service (optional) — detect when a locked app is opened so App Lock can show your PIN gate
• Kill background processes — stop background apps during optimization flows you start
• Boot completed — restore Hidden Apps launcher state after device restart

If you deny a permission, the related feature may not work. Core browsing of already-scanned results may still be limited depending on the feature.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide App features you request (scan, clean, boost, vault, lock)
• Save your preferences and vault data on your device
• Display advertisements through Google AdMob
• Improve stability and fix bugs
• Respond to support requests you send us

We do not use your files or notification content for advertising profiling on Nougex servers.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your scanned files, WhatsApp media, vault contents, or notification text with third parties for their marketing.

Information processed by Google AdMob is shared with Google as our advertising provider under Google’s Privacy Policy. Google may process data on servers located outside India.

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or others.

Data retention

• On-device data (scans, vault, lock settings) remains until you delete files, clear the App’s storage, or uninstall the App.
• Ad-related data is retained according to Google AdMob and Google Ads policies.
• Support emails you send to us are kept only as long as needed to respond and maintain records.

Android backup

SpaceUp may participate in Android’s automatic backup mechanism for certain app settings. Backup content is controlled by Google and your device manufacturer. Sensitive vault or lock data is stored in app-private storage; review your device backup settings if you use cloud backup.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App. Hidden Gallery and App Lock rely on your device’s app sandbox and your PIN. No method of storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — especially if your device is rooted, compromised, or unlocked by others who know your PIN.

Your choices

• Delete local data: Android Settings → Apps → SpaceUp → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the App.
• Revoke permissions: Turn off storage, usage, notification, or accessibility access in Android Settings at any time.
• Reset advertising ID: Android Settings → Google → Ads, or reset your advertising ID on your device.
• Opt out of personalized ads: Google Ads Settings

International users

SpaceUp is published from India. If you use the App outside India, advertising data processed by Google may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy. For significant changes, we may also provide notice inside the App where appropriate.
