Privacy Policy

Who this App is for

NanheKadam is designed for parents and caregivers to track baby care activities such as feeding, diapers, sleep, and medicine. The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Information we collect

Information you enter in the App

When you use NanheKadam, you may choose to enter information such as:

• Your name and your baby’s name
• Your baby’s date of birth (optional)
• Caregiver names and relationships (e.g. Mom, Dad, Nani)
• Care logs you create, including feeds, diaper changes, sleep sessions, medicine schedules, and medicine doses given
• App preferences such as language (English or Hindi) and night mode

This information is stored locally on your device using Android DataStore so you can use the App offline. We do not operate a user account system and we do not upload your care logs to our own servers.

Information collected automatically

To understand how the App is used and to improve it, we use Google Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase). This service may collect:

• App interaction events (e.g. screens viewed, features used)
• General device and app information (e.g. device model, OS version, app version)
• Approximate location derived from IP address (as provided by Google)
• App language preference (as a user property)
• Anonymized or pseudonymous identifiers assigned by Firebase for analytics purposes

Analytics events do not include your baby’s name, your name, or the contents of your care logs.

Device permissions

The App may request the following permissions to provide its features:

• Notifications — to show medicine and feeding reminders
• Exact alarms / schedule alarms — to deliver reminders at the times you set
• Boot completed — to restore scheduled reminders after your device restarts
• Foreground service — to play optional voice reminders reliably

You can deny or revoke permissions in your device settings. Some features may not work without the relevant permission.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide core App features (logging, timeline, reminders, tips, recipes)
• Save your preferences and data on your device between sessions
• Send local notifications and voice reminders you enable
• Measure App performance and usage through Firebase Analytics
• Improve stability, usability, and features over time

We do not sell your personal information.

How we share information

We do not share the care data you enter with third parties for marketing purposes.

Analytics data is processed by Google as our service provider under Google’s Privacy Policy. Google may process data on servers located outside India.

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or others.

Data retention

Care data and preferences you enter remain on your device until you clear the App’s data, uninstall the App, or reset your device.

Firebase Analytics data is retained according to Google’s default retention settings for Firebase / Google Analytics, which you can learn about in Google’s documentation.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App. Local data is stored in your device’s protected app storage. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

• Delete local data: Clear app storage in Android Settings → Apps → NanheKadam → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the App.
• Disable notifications: Turn off notifications or exact alarms in device settings.
• Limit analytics: You can limit ad/analytics tracking in your device’s Google settings where available, or opt out of personalized ads via Google Ads Settings.

International users

NanheKadam is published from India. If you use the App outside India, your information — including analytics data processed by Google — may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
